A critical electrical hazard was discovered aboard Ohana: a loose crimp connection on a battery wire had overheated, melting the surrounding insulation. This fault was hidden behind walls and would not have been detected during routine visual inspections, posing a serious fire risk within a few years.
The port fuel gauge has been fully restored. During the rewiring of the alternators to charge the house battery bank, a suspected grounding issue with the MDI unit was identified and corrected.
While the other upgrades were going on Ohana also got new carpeting in the salon and new seat cushions in the cockpit area
